      I used to wrap some fuse wire for the same purpose, but these are much more reliable. Once you start using these, you'll throw away your crocodile clips. When laying out a board, for each test point, put a via to GND plane about 6-8mm away, which you can poke this thing into while the probe tip is on the test point.
