      very handy probe

      The hook is very sturdy and could fit around a pretty wide piece of insulated wire. The spike is very sharp. I was concerned that it might not work on thinner wire. I pierced some 26 gauge wire with insulation, much thinner than this design. I had to position it carefully but it did make contact and remarkably left a minimal mark in the insulation. I measured resistance with Brymen 867 5 1/2 digit multimeter. Resistance was within hundreds of an ohm as direct contact between the probes!
